Erin Easley is the Founder and Clinical Director of Care First Counseling, a practice dedicated to supporting the emotional wellness of first responders and their families.
Her commitment to this work is both professional and deeply personal. As the wife of a retired Fire Chief with more than 30 years of service, Erin has lived the first-responder lifestyle alongside her family. She understands the realities of shift work, missed holidays and birthdays, long hours, interrupted family time, and the experience of raising children while often feeling like a single parent. She understands that when one person serves, the entire family serves alongside them.
For years, Erin has worked directly with law enforcement and fire agencies throughout Texas, providing mental health support, education, resiliency training, and crisis response. She has helped establish and develop wellness programs for multiple departments and provides mental health resiliency training to first-responder agencies across the state.
Erin is a TCOLE Advanced Instructor and LPC-Supervisor, and she brings extensive experience working within the first-responder environment. Her work includes providing critical incident debriefings, responding to scenes to support first responders following traumatic events, consulting with departments on officer and firefighter wellness, and regularly riding along with first responders to better understand the realities they face in the field.
Her approach goes beyond the traditional counseling office. Erin believes that effective first-responder mental health care requires understanding the culture, the job, the family, and the experiences that are often difficult to explain to someone who has never lived them.
At Care First Counseling, the goal is not simply to help first responders survive the demands of the job—it is to help them build healthy, resilient lives on and off duty. Services are designed to support first responders individually, as well as the spouses, children, and families who experience the impact of the profession alongside them.
Because when one person wears the badge, uniform, or turnout gear, the whole family feels the weight of the job.
Care First Counseling is committed to creating a place where first responders and their families can find understanding, confidentiality, support, and the tools needed to thrive.
